Question: Some users have noticed that the LAUNCH X431 XPROG5 shown in some LAUNCH videos and articles is red, while the XPROG5 they received is black. Is there a difference between the two? Also, are the LAUNCH X431 G5 and XPROG5 the same product?
Answer:
The answer is basically no difference. The red version of the LAUNCH X431 XPROG5 is the Chinese version, usually sold within China, while the black version is the global version.
The red and black versions have identical functions; only the colors are slightly different.
Furthermore,
LAUNCH X431 G5 is the Same as XPROG5; it’s just called the XPROG5 in different regions. This is the same reason why the XPROG3 was originally called G3. The global name for the XPROG series adapters is “X-PROG,” while in China it’s called the G series. For example, the XPROG3 is called “X431 G3” in China, and the XPROG5 is called “X431 G5.”
This is merely a shortened form of the name and does not imply any difference in functionality.
